Car Insurance = tick. Home Insurance = tick. Pet Insurance = tick. Life Cover Protection…?
We recently saw an amazing sculpture of a women carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders…a washing machine, the laundry, an ironing board, laptop etc all whilst holding her child…it’s called ‘A Mother’s Love’.
It resonated with us here at PW & Partners as a lot of our team are young professional mothers responsible for running a business, looking after a home and caring for their children and others.
It made us remember (because sometimes we need reminding)...women really are pretty phenomenal! But for all we do to care for and protect our children, partners, clients, customers, colleagues, family and friends...we aren’t overly good about protecting ourselves. We don’t protect the key cog in the family wheel.
In a recent survey by Zurich of over 5000 females, 60%** of women with a dependent child had no life cover protection. Only 13% of respondents had critical illness cover in place.
Every 22 minutes*, a child loses a parent they depend on financially –these figures are alarming and a yes, a little scary but do shed some light on the gender protection gap. The gap we want to highlight, help you understand why it is so important to get protected and hopefully do our bit to help close it a little.
We want to ensure that our clients, their families and extended families are protected should the worst happen otherwise we wouldn't be doing our jobs right. Of course it’s not nice to think about not being around for our children which is why so many people put it off, but none of us know what’s around the corner. We insure and protect our homes, cars and pets – so why wouldn’t we insure ourselves? Once it is done, it’s done and you don’t have to think about it again. There is definite peace of mind along with numerous other benefits to gain by effecting the appropriate and relevant type of insurance for your own personal circumstances.
We are here to help. Please do get in touch with us if you have any questions or would like to discuss your own personal situation further.
