This November Penny is involved in an ambitious, exciting and intensive project in Nepal helping to re-build one of the schools destroyed in the 2015 earthquake.
Penny along with a team of St. James’s Place Partners from around the UK will be training intensively to prepare for a trek through Nepal in addition to getting physically involved in the construction of ‘seismically-safe’ classrooms.
The main aim of myself and the rest of the team will be to help a small community get back on its feet, ensuring a better future for their children.
An entire ‘seismically safe’ classroom can be constructed for just £6,000 which Penny must raise before embarking on the trip.
She's looking and hoping for as much help as possible…
Any contributions received will help Penny inch closer towards her challenging target, and will be greatly appreciated.
What’s more, St. James’s Place have agreed to triple every penny raised this year for the benefit of the St. James’s Place Foundation. This means that for every £1 you donate to our Nepal challenge, a further £2 will go on to benefit other worthy causes helping children here in the UK and around the globe.
She's been fully immersed in intensive training now for a few months...she's incredibly excited (and also a little nervous) by what she's sure will be an amazing yet gruelling challenge. The opportunity to live in the community with some of the schoolchildren and families of this beautiful country who will benefit from your generosity for generations to come is something she believes will have a life changing impact on her.
